No Barriers to Brotherhood

Money should not be an obstacle to participation in our brotherhood!

Thanks to the generosity of brothers who made contributions during the Golden Anniversary Campaign, the BAA is able to make grants to any brother who needs financial support to make attendance possible. Grants may be made to cover the cost of attendance for spouses and partners as well.

Grants in any amount to cover reasonable expenses, including transportation, housing, cost of a ticket(s), and/or other attendance-related costs, may be made through this easy and confidential process.

The intent of the grant is to vest the alumnus recipient with ownership in the BAA and its continued vitality as a resource for all Beelzebubs.

It serves as a reminder to the grant recipient that he is a valued member of the BAA, that the BAA brotherhood cannot remain strong without the continued participation of each brother, and that being a Beelzebub means that those who need help today may be those that help out other brothers tomorrow.

No Barriers to Brotherhood: Money should not be an obstacle to participation in our brotherhood!

Thanks to the generosity of brothers who made contributions during the Golden Anniversary Campaign, the BAA is able to make grants to any brother who needs financial support to make attendance possible. Grants may be made to cover the cost of attendance for spouses and partners as well.

The “No Barriers to Brotherhood” Fund provides financial assistance for Beelzebubs alumni to promote the widest possible participation at reunions and other alumni events. With its origins in the Golden Anniversary capital campaign, it is intended to be a “pay it forward” fund, with grant recipients making contributions back to the fund as, if and when they are able. Grants are not loans, and there is no obligation to repay them.

A Beelzebubs alumnus desiring assistance will complete a simple form on which he will indicate his estimated expenses and the amount of the grant he is requesting. To preserve confidentiality and assure equity, the BAA Board of Directors has designated a confidential Evaluation Committee to evaluate applications, administer the program and allocate the funds.

A Beelzebubs alumnus seeking financial assistance to attend the 60th Reunion weekend in May 2023 shall submit a request no later than
April 20, 2023
to be eligible for consideration.

The request shall be made directly and confidentially to Bill Heenehan, Treasurer of the BAA, using the application provided below. The Treasurer will transmit all requests to the Evaluation Committee.

The intent of the grant is to vest the alumnus recipient with ownership in the BAA and its continued vitality as a resource for all Beelzebubs. It serves as a reminder to the grant recipient that he is a valued member of the BAA, that the BAA brotherhood cannot remain strong without the continued participation of each brother and that being a Beelzebub means that those who need help today may be those that help out other brothers tomorrow.

All applications shall be maintained in the strictest of confidence. Once the deadline has passed for receiving applications, all eligible applications shall be evaluated, keeping in mind the total grant distribution to be made from the Fund. At such time as the Evaluators have made decisions on the grant requests, the BAA Treasurer shall communicate the grant amount to each recipient, confirm acceptance of the grant and process any required documentation to make the grant.

Approved by the BAA Board of Directors on July 10, 2012; revised on March 17, 2013, March 11, 2018 and April 14, 2018
